Q. What is the difference between a discount coupon & a cash-back rebate?
Cash-back rebates work well because they allow you full flexibility of where you buy your product or service. To claim a cash-back rebate, you provide a copy of your receipt to PowerBuy after your purchase. Powerbuy collects the cash-back for you and pays you either by direct deposit or cheque.
A coupon reduces the price you pay for a product or service at the time you make your purchase. You must redeem your coupon before you buy. Coupons give you the advantage of saving up-front, but they are only available for certain brands.
Q. I don't have an Australian Business Number (ABN). Can I still save?
Yes, you can. We negotiate discount coupons for products that are ideal for home and student use. See here for the latest offers. We can also recommend popular products and connect you to reputable stores so you end up with the right product at a great price.
Q. What if I can negotiate a better price from my local supplier?
Our offers are unique because they provide you with an extra saving on top of the best price you can find. Our cash-back rebate means that you can still buy your favourite I.T product on sale from your favourite supplier (providing it is new), and once you've made your purchase you can give us a copy of your tax invoice receipt and make an extra cash-back saving.
Q. I think that cash-back rebates are usually difficult to claim. Is that true?
Many cash-back programs are designed to make it very difficult to claim. Not ours. We have designed our cash-back rebates to be fast & easy to claim, because:
a) You can upload your receipt online. You don't have to bother with cutting out barcodes and posting them off.
b) You can track the status of your rebate online. The money will be sent to you as soon as we receive a rebate from the manufacturer.
c) We can pay you by bank deposit, which is the fastest & easiest option. Or alternatively we can pay you by cheque - it's up to you.
Q. How long does it take to receive my cash-back?
It takes approximately eight weeks from the time you submit a cash-back claim to when you receive the rebate payment. Eight weeks is only a guide and some customers may receive their payment earlier or later depending on how quickly the IT manufacturer pays us. You can track the status of your claim when you log-in.
Q. How long does it take to receive my coupon?
You have immediate access to coupons as soon as you register with PowerBuy. All coupons can be used straight away.
