Windows 8 sees many changes to the way we will use our PCs, Notebooks, Tablets and phones. One of the new changes to follow this is Microsoft Office 365. Microsoft Office 365 is the new way to use the Cloud to make your business documents available whenever, wherever you need them. It is a collection of programs and services for sending email, storing documents, and working together online.
Office 365 is Microsoft’s new service Cloud offering. It includes the Office products that you have come to know and love (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook) but it is in the cloud. Here’s what makes it different:
- Office 365 roams with you
You can access your documents and spreadsheets no matter where you are or what computer you are using. Sign in to your online account and your files appear just the way you left them. If you don’t have Internet connectivity then you can work on your documents offline and they will synchronise the next time you are online.
- Easy file sharing
Invite people outside your business to work with you on documents, share your calendar, and communicate in real-time across a variety of instant messaging services. So long as they have an Internet connection you can share your files with them. Great for large documents and for tracking changes!
- Extra features
Office 365 has features that your current model does not, such as video calling and conferencing as well as online file storage and management.
- Your files are always backed up
You can store your files in a private online storage area and keep them safe even if your PC fails. The files are kept in sync with a folder on your PC so you can access your documents even when you are not connected.
- Pay by the month
Office 365 packages are a subscription-ba
sed service which means no upfront costs and you rent it by the month. There is no need to ever worry about software upgrades because your subscription fee gets you access to any new features that Microsoft release.
Moving to Office 365 and the Cloud is a great idea for many businesses but there are limitations and it is not for everyone. Feel free to give us a call so we can help determine if it’s right for you.
